[NEWS UPDATE] – Answer the call!

snipeyourbuddies1

This is your BTG weekday news update. I am news reporter Xbox King and I thank you for stopping by.

My sources have informed me that Thursday October 9th, 2009 at 8:25 PM EST Mircrosoft sent an email encouraging people to “snipe your buddies”.  Wait… We just got word that we found a witness

… Here is our field reporter CrazyEcho, with an anonymous bystander.

CrazyEcho: What happened when you checked your email?
Anonymous bystander: I remember every detail!  On 10/8/09, at 5:25 PM PST, I recieved a weekly update from Microsoft that appeared to be the same as always, but as I read it I became terrified!!!
CrazyEcho: What exactly did it say?
Anonymous bystander: It encouraged people to “snipe your buddies”, followed by “drive a sherman tank” and “set demo charges”.

Thanks Crazy! As you can see, Microsoft is actually encouraging people to snipe their friends, an investigation is taking place as we speak.

Arcade Feed: Yo-Ho KaBlammo

This week in Xbox Live Arcade –

Yo-Ho KaBlammo is an amalgamation of mini games packed into a full XBLA title.  The catch is, the mini games are based on a few gameplay elements with the objectives changing in each of the 15 challenges that make up the game.

Let me break it down.  You can sail around, collect power-ups, kill your opponents by firing your side cannons, and collect treasure.  Mines are randomly placed throughout the map and are neutral until you sail your ship over them to claim them.  When an enemy sails over a claimed mine they take damage.  For one challenge you are required to be the first one to claim 50 mines, and in another you must kill your opponents 5 times before they kill you 5 times.  You may be required to kill them the most or get the most points in a challenge.  The objectives change, but the game remains the same.

Are there worse games out there? Yes.  I did enjoy some of it but I don’t see myself getting hooked on it.  It’s not a completely terrible game and it is easy to pick up play.  Although, justifying an 800 MS point price tag would be like giving medicine to the dead.  This game clearly belongs in the 400 point range.  If it were cheaper I would say give it a shot, but I’m gonna have to go with a “break it” on this one.  :(
